  1. I'm looking at buying a pair of microsensor shorts from Pearl Izumi. Their size charts for waist and hip are:

    Waist - medium(32-34) large(35-37)
    Hip - medium(35-37) large(38-40)

I check my measurements, and I have 34.5" waist and 37.5" hips. This puts me right in between medium and large.

I tried on Pearl Izumi's before, and both stretch to fit, so it was hard to tell much of a difference between medium and large. I currently have a pair of Cannondale's that the pad edge is killing me, and it may be partly because they are to large on me.

  2. Did you have a question, or is this just a report on your measurements as compared to the Pearl Izumi sizes? 😄

The question by implication would probably be about what size you should get and/or if the Mediums stretch enough to fit you... I can't answer either of those definitively, but I would buy based on whether you expect your waist and hip measurements to go up or down in the future... and if you expect to remain about the same size, I would guess that the mediums would work for you.

My bib shorts are not Pearl Izumi, but they are (according to their sizing label) about 2" too small for me, but I bought them becaus they were the largest available and I expected to shrink into them. They fit me well.

    YMMV

  3. Oops... yes, basically, I was wondering what the consensious was as to better to have 'em a bit tight as opposed to a bit loose...

I do not expect to gain or lose, which leaves me in the middle of the M-L sizes.

  4. Get the smaller ones, you'll have less chafing. Problem perhaps if you are over 6' tall...most bibs fit by height.

  5. go smaller. better support and better fitting chamois.
