I walked the entire course and there were few places that I could not be right next to the barrier
so I doubt there were 100k people. Many watched as an incidental affair they were walking past. It
was nice since the race was held near the seaport and the sailing ships were there. There was a core
crowd of cycling fans and there were plenty of portojons and vendors giving and selling stuff. Plus
the free admission made it a great day. The only thing better would have been Cippolini riding .

There were not as many people as last year for sure.

I'd say it was an easy half of what they had last year. There were very few people south of
the s/f line.

The crowd was definitely smaller than last year. They need to get Lance to show if they're going to
attract the average joe/jane (non-racer, maybe not even a bike rider).

I was a first timer this year, unlike my teammate Dan. It may have been smaller but I was still
IMPRESSED. I'd guess 20,000. The last few laps were LOUD.

That's one of the benefits of courses that go between tall buildings. Wheat Thins near Faneuil Hall
in Boston was like that. 10,000 people can make your ears hurt and you have to assume the bell is
ringing because you can't hear it.

And the other year the Wheat Thins S/F was right at the west end of Faneuil Hall-the shopping
plaza area.
