I've got the last slices of fresh yellow squash, zucchini and two thawed
tilapia fillets. A fresh lemon, garlic, lots of herbs & spices. Still
debating what to do with all this.

Baked breaded fish from the butcher, leftover fried
zucchini-peppers-potatoes, brown rice, broccoli.
Dessert will be vanilla ice cream and cantaloupe.

Grilled chops, dirty rice and steamed broccoli. Dessert will be what
appears to be the last of the strawberries of the season. The strawberries
don't look so good. I'm going to chop 'em up and use them for strawberry
shortcake except I use pound cake instead of the sponge cake thingys.

Saute the vegetables in the garlic, spices etc and lemon. Grill/Broil
the fish and pour the sauce over. Serve with rice or pasta.

I've got a bunch of bone - in chicken breasts and some nice thick pork
chops...I did them this afternoon on the stove, had some BBQ sauce that
I goosed up...
Will have a big tossed salad with it, I also made a spicy tomato -
buttermilk salad dressing this afternoon...
I'll have this AFTER I get home tonight from happy hour at the corner
tap...
We are going to set up at the bar a Katrina fund, we'll send the $$$ I
guess to the Red Cross. Folx can buy a paper shamrock for a buck, they
write their name on the shamrock and it's stapled to the wall.
Generally when we do this for charities we get at least about $500.00
or so, we should get a nice number of $$$ for this one...

A baked potato with LOTS of butter! The hubby caved and bought one for me.
(He'll end up eating half which is why he doesn't want this stuff in the
house anyway. LOL)

LOL! I don't have any potatoes. Used the last of them in the potato-leek
soup last week. I'm not buying any more fresh produce until I get back from
my trips this month 🙂 I hate letting food spoil. Actually, none of it
sounds good to me right now. I'm just not hungry.

I wasn't either, Jill, but he was insistant that he wanted me to eat. Fine.
Baked 'tater. He bought it, grumbled and said, "Yeah, I'll end up eating
your other half!" He's right though. :~) One, whole baked potato is too
much for me. I'm just happy to have a potato. I'm gonna slather it in
bacon, peas, broccoli, cheese and butter. Can you say yum?

How big is that potato?! I can say "yum" except I wouldn't put peas on a
baked potato 🙂 Broccoli (steamed), cheese and butter, yep! Just not
tonight. I really am not hungry. Ticks me off, too, since I thought I had
it all figured out.

I'm close to that; I'm making a quiche. Specifically, I'm making a quiche
with bacon, onions, smoked mozzarella, and Parmesan. Green salad with
tomatoes, avocado, sunflower seeds, and French dressing. (I have reason to
doubt the authenticity of the "French" dressing. I follow the recipe in the
_Broadway Deli_ cookbook, but I never saw a dressing like that in France!)
Maybe a glass of wine, but probably iced tea instead. (I have to work later
tonight.) Kiwi tartlet for dessert.

It's one of those honkin' ones. You know those HUGE bakers that takes you
two days to eat each half? One of the main reasons my wonderful husband
doesn't want carbs in the house is because I eat like a bird and can't ever
finish what I start - which includes whatever carbs I get him to buy for me.
If it's a leftover carb and he wakes up in the middle of the night, it
beckons. He can't help it. It's like a beacon.
So, he already knows he's screwed for the night. He's got a half a potato
waiting........calling........

We had to take SO's mom to the doctor this afternoon, then did some
shopping. We wound up at Blue C Sushi at University Village here in
Seattle. This is one of those conveyor-belt sushi joints (think a
moving automat or dim sum without the carts). She was rather hesitant
about the concept of Japanese food, but we warmed her up with some miso
soup and chicken teriyaki. After that she tried much of what we put in
front of her. Mind you, this is a 90-year-old woman. I don't think my
mother would be as receptive to Japanese food.
Tomorrow we still have to do more shopping (we're trying to furnish her
apartment at the retirement complex). We may introduce her to the
restaurant at Ikea and their Swedish meatballs.

It *was* good. The best part is that I've got half of it left over for
brunch tomorrow. I'm thinkin' quiche, cafe au lait, a few grapes, and some
chunks of Crenshaw melon will fortify me for the afternoon.
But I'm sorry, you can't have any of it. It's _all mine_! YOU have your
baked potato, don't you? -- assuming that any of it remains by the time you
read this. :-)
(Of course, if you're in a potato kind of mood, Barb's Spanish tortilla
might suit you better anyway. That's another recipe in which the leftovers
are really good for brunch.)

I saw your pic of that in a.b.f. yum.
We had:
Chicken soup with matzah balls (it was leftover from last night),
chicken kiev and romaine salad with carrots and red cabbage and this
yummy viniagrette my husband makes.
For dessert we has banana-chocolate chip muffins.
I'm still full. 🙂

We had antipasto, then a while later a homemade pizza. Right now I'm
polishing off a bown of homemade espresso gelato.
