Just something I thought was funny. Last night I was going through the cable channels and found "Dodgeball: A true underdog story" and watched a 1 & 1/2 minute seen with L.A. The scene was with Vince Vaughn. Vince was sitting at a bar in Vegas, thinking about quitting the dodgeball championships, when Lance comes up along side him, orders a bottle of water, and say something to Vince who replied back he was going to quit, Lance then made some kind of comment about being a cancer survivor and then going on to win the TdF five times in a row, and then Lance said something to Vince about quiting the dodgeball thing, and regretting it for the rest of his life.
Now overall the movies was pretty stupid, but I thought that seen was a bit funny. Just my opinion.

There was a lot of noise about a Greg Lemond movie at one time - it never happened. Armstrong's story might be a better candidate but hardly "inevitable".
"Ali" was a decent movie but in large part because it was 20 years after the fact. A Lance movie 20 years from now would likely be more interesting than one next year.

If they striped Lance of all of his Tour de France victories and that inspired him to come out of retirement and kick ass again, the story would be much more compelling.

Seriously, over the winter my bike club had spinning sessions in a guy's basement, and he brought out (dredged? unearthed?) "Dodgeball" for us one time. We had fun with it, saying, "hey, isn't that the Tour of Whatever guy? The one with all the yellow shirts?" and "No! No way someone could do that!!" [survive brain, lung, and testicular cancer etc.] For the rest of the evening we repeated the lines. "It probably won't haunt you for the rest of your life."

The only problem with that is he is getting a bit old! I mean it would be nice if you could ride at 40 like you did when you were in your mid to late 20's. I dislike athletes who try to hard to hold on to the "glory days" heck even Mike Jordan finally decided to hang it up!

Wasn't there an athlete recently that tried again at 40 and regretted it? Then publicly said it was a dumb idea. You can hold on to the glory days....if you know when to leave. Glory days are only glory days if you get out with your dignity in tact.
Knowing when to leave is something many people can't grasp. Even top rated TV series know when to end the show....before they "jump the shark". ;-) Athlete's should do the same. Maggie
