k2 flying monkey for freeriding

If you got discs 24 will work. If you have v-bakes forgettaboutit. I rock
my Steelhead with 24" wheels SS for DJ and 26" with gears for XC. I know it
is crazy but the Azonic Steelhead makes a schwaweeet all around HT.

Then I bust out my Bullit for the drops over 6'.

That flying Monkey will snap in half if you are going to really abusive to
your bike. I mean real FR and it won't make it. Trail Ride with ocassional
3' drop and 15' tables and it should be OK.

And if you put 24" wheels on it (was designed for 26"😉 you will be smacking
rocks out riding real trails. If you have smooth DJ's then OK it will lower
your center of gravity. Man it rawks jumping on 24" wheels though!

I remember when little kids on Schwinn Sting-Rays ruled the concrete
jungle without shocks, multiple gears, helmets, body armor and all of
the other things goobers who have labeled it "urban assault" seem to
"need".

I bet neither of you know what the "flying monkey" was named after and
how that name came to be in the first place. It would not fit the
"trend" of mindlessness that is prevalent in the "freeride" set.

I prefer kids getting into trendy freeride riding rather than the trendy
playing of videos games and getting fat.

I'd rather see them getting fat than making a public nusiance out of
themselves on the trails, especially when they build illegal [censored] on
existing trails and ride off-trail for the sake of their underinflated

1st came the FS Disco Monkey. Then the hardtail Flying
Monkey,

OZ was the carbon model of the K2 4000 AND 5000. I
raced along side one in 99. My 1st race and came in last. My
last race was in 03 with 1st place win on not any of my production
Proflex or K2 models. It was my build ACCESS frame,disc,Shimano
crank,the rest Sram 9.0,X9, PC 89.
