If you carefully compare certain (but not all) Axiom models to those made by VDO you see that they are the same. I have the VDO C-15+, which is wireless but without cadence, but clearly the same as one of the Performance Axiom models (I think it even has '15' in the model number). Mine is fairly basic and works fine; others have had mostly good things to say about VDO computers. Sounds like it might be worth a try.
