Hi Graham,
CR is indeed a magnificant scramble. Good pictures but, as with my own
pictures, they can't really show how it is up there. It has been several
years since I've been up there (it was a *short* intermezzo before driving
up to Torridon) but it brings back memories. I was with my Scottish friend
Jimmy and he insisted on scrambling Crowberry Tower as well. Now that one
gives you an airy feeling in your stomach. Did you ever do Crowberry Tower ?

Agreed, the pics flatten out the hill considerably and there is no
real feeling of the angle of the rock, the exposure or the
exhilaration of a magnificent scramble, never difficult but always

Had a very close look at the tower and could see what looked like an
easy enough scramble up on to the tower via the gully ( very loose
scree ) and what looked like a few ledges to the top. We would have
had a go if we had carried a rope as it looked like a short abseil
would be the best way off. Lesson learned for next time and a short
section of rope will be carried. The tower must be an absolutely
spectacular viewpoint.

We went straight up Crowberry Tower from Curved Ridge.(in your picture from
the right hand side). Scary but not as scary as coming down the other side
:-) No ropes, just faith and sweat :-)

Grahams. The pic titles are there but no pics and nothing happens when
clicking on the title-both IE and Firefox.

You don't need a rope to do this. There's a short (8ft ?) wall which
guards the start, but it's not difficult if you've made it that far
already. There's a big flat bit underneath to catch you even if you
did make a mess of it. Once you're over that, an easy path spirals round
the back all the way to the top. It's a great place to be.
