  1. Hi,

Thinking of getting the Shimano Flight Deck bike computer with the MTB
    wireless sensor kit.

Will the gear indicator work ok on my Marin Eastpeak which has Shimano
    Alivio shifters ?

    Thanks
    splowe.

    Short answer is no.

    Here's the deal:

The flight deck system is a three part system.

    1 Display Head

    2 Harness

    3 Compatible shifter

The shifter is your stumbling block. The flight deck is compatible
    with:
XTR (952), XT (750/751), LX (M570) and Deore (M510), in the mountain
    line up.

Not only is it not compatible with your Alivio set, it is also not
compatible with XTR (M961/966), XT (M760/765), LX (M585) or Saint or
Hone or any of the other shifters/brifters ...sort of a limited
    gimmicky system.

Not as well as orienteering skill with the proper tools handy.
Electronics are for home, bikes are for the trail.
