Hey fellow rec.running people!
Three months ago I suffered a horrible ankle sprain, and I was cleared
two months ago from the ortho department. The Xrays didn't show
anything and the doctor testing all the flexion (left/right/up/down),
and there was absolutely no pain. Even bearing weight is no problem.
However, when I step into my walk, pain occurs. The doctor tells me
"soreness" because of ankle atrophy. Okay, so I went out to do ankle
exercises... and the tingling pain is still there. I would run for a
day and come out with a sore/painful ankle and I would lay off activity
for a week and a half. The pain disappears and I let it cool off, and I
go run another round and the pain comes back.
My ankle seems like it's in good shape. It's strong and I have no
problem doing calf raises (no pain!). I can stand on the once damaged
foot without a problem as well, but it's that step into that hurts.
The ortho guy says that it's just soreness, but I think otherwise. What
could be wrong? Spurs? Arthritis?
Thank you so much guys.
