Pedal Threads, Reverse Tapping?

That wouldn't be safe, not enough metal would remain after re-tapping in the opposite direction.
Sell 'em on eBay if you don't need them.

Don't just retap or use epoxy. There are inserts made to reclaim damaged pedal threads that work
just fine. There's an aweful lot of force going through those threads. Phil Brown

Why not swap out the pedal spindle instead? You might need to loctite it to keep it from coming
loose, but that seems better than epoxy.

The epoxy I was referring to is a thead forming material. You coat the bolt so it doesn't stick and
paint the bad threads with the material. After the stuff cures, you remove the bolt.

Sure you _could_ do that but you really do want to install a steel sleeve in them if you plan on
standing. Why risk it? The sleeve is cheap.
