  1. Sorry, but just had to share this eBay item with you!

The "questions from other members" make it even funnier...well for me
    anyway!

I have just come back from 5 weeks away - 3 weeks in the Pyrenees and
the last 2 in Brittany with 17 members of my closest family (2
    parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters-in-law, 6 nieces and 3 nephews). My
eldest nephew is 10, and well into things like farts. I felt it my
duty as an uncle to encourage his interests and educational
development. On my suggestion he is now conducting scientific
experiments into bottled farts. Does the smell mature with time like
a vintage port, or does it just fade away? Does the ambient
temperature effect the odour? Beans on toast one day, egg and bacon
the next - how do the results compare after a week?

Unfortunately I didn't consider encouraging his business sense by
recommending a sale of his prized gas on eBay.

One of the Last Word questions in New Scientist a while ago was about
how many bacteria there are in a fart. No-one seemed to have an answer,
although one respondent experimented with farting on an agar plate and
    waiting for it to grow.

Can't seem to find it on the New Scientist website though :-(

Last week's discovery. I made lentil and mushroom curry, but found
I had only the red lentils available for it (more suitable for dal
than a hot curry). It provoked serious farting, with a serious
    smell, the day after.

Question for the young scientist: what is different in red lentils -
as against green or brown lentils - that causes this?

And co-incidentally, I stumbled across this the other day (Although I've
no idea what I was originally looking for!).

This post contains no hidden meanings, no implications and certainly no
hidden agendas so it should be taken at face value. The wrong words
may be used this is due to my limitations with the English language .

There was, and I saw it on telly once. It was a blast.
