That's a bbq! (or as I like to think of it, the 'sacrificial altar'...) Gas-piped 'n all...

Yes, I'm rather pleased, esp given how hard it is to find frames my size. And from early deductions, I think the blue one is a nice Peugot under it's cheapo aftermarket paint job...

Just checked the Boroondara hard rubbish schedule. We've got until early September, with the focus now on Surrey Hills, Canterbury, followed by Ashburton and Camberwell. Given that tomorrow's my 'work' from home day, I might grab the wagon and do a scour - Anyone want to place any orders?? Seriously!

I still need a fork, headstem and seatpost for the "Can I build a fixie from beer project" (I've been occupied with other projects recently). Preferably red, so it goes faster and matches.

the single speed project but really want to update it with a horizontal
dropout frame instead of the derailler as a chain tensioner.

As shabby hasn't spoken up, I believe that he needs a standard quill stem and a 25mm seatpost.

And he would likely happily exchange beer, I know at least 3 newsgroup regulars that have benefitted so far!

I went to Northcote last night, finally picked up my track bike, been 5 weeks since I crashed, apparently the guy who caused the crash got a months suspension.

I'll be back but still need a few more weeks to refind form and total comfort with the shoulder.

Track is great for skills, I recommend it to everyone. And a track bike to try is cheap.

There was a 5 speed road bike on the side of the road most of the week
- don't know whether it is still there. Fairmont ave, parallel to
camberwell, half way up the hill.

Well, I'm back from my morning scrounge. Canterbury must have a better reputation for hard rubbish than Balwyn as there were a lot more people scrounging and thus not as much as I'd hoped. However 2 more nice finds:

2 - An awesome road/track frame complete with track ends and some luverly lug work. Methinks this is a keeper and will be my new fixed.

No wheels to be seen anywhere though... Shame.

So what does that mean for all of you eager readers? Well, I'm willing to send to a good home:

- The Graecross - either to DaveB at first or anyone else if he doesn't want.
- The white Viceroy - about 56-57cms and with a range of parts still attached, and horizontal dropouts. Good for frame and/or parts. (I'll be keeping the rack, dynamo and lights however)

- The blue Peugeot - I may consider letting this one go if anybody really wants it. About 56cms (so a tad too small for me ideally), vertical dropouts and some nice chrome forks and stays under the paint job. I've got a couple of basic alloy quill stems that should do. I'll check lengths etc. Have to double check on the seatpost though.

wouldn't mind setting up a PROPER tourer (i.e., not a GV bike)
myself...

Seriously though, what is the best size for 6"3 (as hard as that question is to answer)? Arbitrarily I aim for 60, but having never had a road bike I really don't know. Accurate, non-self-serving answers only please!
