So with 49 days to go, how is your preparation going?

I saw that the other day.......I was a bit [censored] as I think I was the first
one to get my name in and I nominated for the team of four, not the team of
six. Having said that, it looks like I might have to go away for a few
weeks (somewhere hot and sandy) so I won't be able to get in as much
training as I hoped prior to the event.
Should be a whole stack of fun.......I am going to try to get a hold of one
of the sets of HID lights for at least one of my night laps.
I also need to get onto Andrew about what is being provided in terms of
tentage, stretchers, sleeping bags, food, cooking facilities, etc.
Hopefully there will be a cast of thousands and all I will have to do is
rock up with my bike and gear. I might have to throw in the water rocket
launcher as well for a bit of fun between laps.

Lotte reckons I'm improving... but the Epic next weekend will be my test
run.

You know, a little more preparation and a little less pessimism and you
could fix the pinch flat and then have a test *ride*.
Dave - whose warm up for this 24 is even sillier than the Sydney one,
but at least it's not the weekend prior.

ROFLMAO when I did the MTB half mara, on race morning I tucked some
basic arch-support orthotics into my shoes. Good call. I ran a lot of
that race ๐

Good luck in that. I've heard the last climb described as "soul destroying", but you already knew that - or didn't want to know.

Not for the 12 it isn't! And that's a much more sensible "Warmup" than
that silly Dirtworks thing the week before the Sydney 24.
Dave - who was a little bit broken after those two events.
