out, and by God I'm going use my share so no one else gets it.

Interesting. I've heard of giffen goods but maybe this is something
else?

The trailer is for hauling the extra stuff to the self storage lot.

early mornings use to be almost clear of cars, now it's like rush hour.
People are on 24/7 schedules now, and they must rack up 50K miles a year
now. Personally I drive 10K a year, and ride 10K also. Before I took up
riding, I drove 12k/ year. So look at me I'm taking up more road space too.

I've already seen quite a few discovery kits, and there's a trek dealer
in my area so that's a pretty common sight.

One thing I saw today which I have never seen: an actual group of
bent-riders. You don't usually see more than one or two at a time, but
this was like a whole big group of about 20!

_The_ easiest weight to cut from a vehicle are the 450 lbs behind the
rear wheels, the trunk. Lighter is better, uses less fuel and costs
less to own. The new SUV designs are passenger capsules with a phantom
luggage compartment that disappears to nothing immediately behind the
rear seat group.

Yes, drivers are putting more miles on the road. 2 yrs. ago I owned 3
cars with 20K/yr/car. Today 1 car goes the distance often 2x running
~40K/yr. The costs to own additional vehicles exceed the penalty paid
driving extra distance to make one vehicle workout.

Trek are sweeping the country right now. People are rolling Trek off
their tongues and slapping down the big bucks to get into the sport.
Good on them! The Madone's are beautiful machines if you can catch a
glimpse of one as it flashes by you. Trek have _innovated_ put up
their product for scrutiny on a World stage and pushed R&D on old
designs that were nothing to be ashamed about in the first place. Trek
is the *safe* purchase right now... I think its a great way to get
more people into the sport, creating bike lanes and healthier
lifestyles. Even the Discovery Kit is OK by me, if that is what it
takes to get guys out on the road. Everybody has to start somewhere!
Get them started, is 1/2 way to a lifetime committment to getting
better on a bike. the rest will follow...
