I'm not sure, but I know who'll know... if you go to Ebay and ask in
the Community discussion boards then they'll tell you all about it. I
had to post 3 guitars last year, and had difficulty at my local post
office. They took the parcel in the end, though.

Good luck :-) I'd try the 'Community Q&A' one if I were you.
Best wishes,

Maybe . Standard Parcel Service (not Parcelforce) will take up to 20 kg,
with size retrictions, eg. max length is 1.5 metres, so front wheel
would have to come off at least). See:

Parcelforce will take bigger parcels I thinks, but more expensive
(are Parcelforce part of the Royalmail anymore anyway?)

Yes, done it recently. There is theoretically a maximum size and as I
recall my package was slightly over but rural posties can bend the
rules, as I expect you know... Take the wheels and pedals off, turn the
handlebars to right angles (or take them off altogather) and pack the
bike carefully.

Morning had broken, and we had run out of gas for the welding torch.

Especially the dropouts and front forks.
I had to reshape a bike frame that was damaged by some postal dolt
dropping the box it was in on its end.
A single bike should only cost about £11.67 to post via the Standard
Parcels delivery service.
If you need a box for it ask at your local bike shop,or if there isn't
an LBS in your locale get one by mail order..An empty bike box sent
Standard Parcels costs about £7,and the boxes are usually free
(though according to stereotype a Scottish LBS might charge you !)
thanks all
Put a piece of wood between both front and rear dropouts and tape it in
place to support them in the even of a crush. When I sent my bike for
repray I was advised to do this.

Your LBS will have loads of plastic spacers designed specifically for
the job lying around.

About a year ago I saw a bicycle in my local sorting office[1], which
merely had a large label taped around the crossbar which had the address
and the stamps on it! Probably not recommended as an option though!
[1] No prizes for guessing what particular organisation I might work for!
