Around $700 is what I would submit

If your insurance offers replacement value, find out what it will cost you for a comparable bike and
accessories, and submit that value.

Replacement value if you can get it.

If not, replacement value - depreciation (value * (# years you had it/years of life for the bike))

I'm an insurance agent. If you can convince the insurance company that a comparable replacement such
as the 2004 Cannondale is all that is available, you might convince them to allow you to purchase
it. Most adjusters don't know anything about bikes.

Based on the fact that BikeE is defunct, the market value is reduced considerably.

Be careful in submitting the claim. If the value is near your deductible you might want to think
twice about submitting the claim. You will be "marked" on your CLUE report as having a claim. Too
many claims will get you non-renewed and make it difficult to find coverage elsewhere.

This reminds me of a scene in a movie called, For Pete's Sake." Barbara Streisand is trying to
submit a claim for a stolen watch. The insurance adjuster says, " If we pay the claim we will
have to cancel you." Barbara Streisand says, "Then, why do we buy insurance?" The guy says,
"Peace of mind!"
