    I hear ya

I've bought a heap of stuff from there, never overpriced, always good quality. Plus just a great place to perve at bike [censored] and wonder about the history of some of the rides.

  11. Yep they've got everything *hot* in bikes....

Bikes bought, not too many questions asked!

But make sure you know your prices (much like ebay).

At one stage I saw a second hand custom Ciombola for a higher price than Trak were selling the equivalent new ones.

It can be easy to get over-excited by all the bikes there.

hmmm...dunno 'bout that. I see them get licence details or other ID

  16. It's a good place to start if your bike gets nicked.

Mine eventually turned up at a 2nd hand dealer in Frankston that I stumbed across in my dispondent wanderings. They had licence & ID details, not that anyone answered the phone number when dialled or lived at that address. The police didn't have any records on the licence & ID details quoted either.

That was 2002 & ironically enough that same year a few months later my Avanti Barracuda got nicked a 2nd time. Different place (undergrnd car park @ work).
That 2nd hand dealer was not pleased to see me again..... but alas it was nowhere to be found.

Someone stealing bikes for a living (or habit) might have also "found' some alternate ID?

There are some gems at Bicycle Recycle & I have bought stuff from there myself. I just feel sad that someone's 'lost' bike could be on display. ๐Ÿ™

    The facts speak for themselves.
The Police sent me to the Moorabbin premisis after they caught the thief for other offences.
He fessed up to the place he fenced my bike *as well as 20+ plus others*.

In the case of my bike it was stolen from the city around 2 pm and sold to BR at 3pm.
1YO Avanti Barracuda bottom bracket engraved with My licence ID, still fitted with computer,
head & tail light mounts as well as Seatpost mount rear rack (all the stuff you normally remove)

Like I said "No questions asked".

  19. hmmmmm.............
