is this a joke?

This 'freestyle' unicycle is a UDC version of the stingray unicycles
seen before on these forums. Do a search for 'stringray' 'chopper
unicycle' or similar and you should find some pics.

I've ridden one of these monsters and I have to say they are very
impressive. There is one problem with tarmac use though, and that is
that the tyre is too grippy and will not twist turn on tarmac, you have
to lean turn. This takes some getting used to, but it is a very smooth
ride, and a learner at crawley this year (he could only ride 10m+ before
falling) managed to stay on this monster for a good few laps of the car
park before dismounting.

Yup, it's real. So I voted yes.

As for whether it makes a good Freestyle uni, that remains to be seen.
Surely not a no or a yes at this point.

Hey do they make that thing in a 24" or a 28"? If they were bigger than
a 20" I'd get one. The tire on my torker LX is a 24" stingray front
wheel 2.125" wide i think. I would love to have a 4" wide 28 or 29'er.

Having ridden the UDC prototype, these things are a bugger to ride, when
you go to turn you twist to one side and it keeps running dead straight,
you've then either go to flail your arms to get upright and try again or
lean hard and hope it comes round. They look cool but I don't really see
the point, they're just plain difficult to ride, for no real benefit.

I rode one today, and with the tire pressure higher they handle a litter
better.

I like the 24" front wheel Stingray tire on my 24 also. Pump it up hard
