Hi
Would one need to 'care' for a Selle Italia Flite leather saddle in the
same way as a Brooks saddle? I'm thinking mainly in terms of using
something similar to Proofide?
Cheers

Not that I've ever noticed.
Note: I have Flites on five of my six bikes. The other one has a
Brooks Pro.

why leather not synthetics?

Because I've been given a leather one! Would you recommend non-leather?

never had a leather seat, recently
leather shoies are a huge butt ache in wet country. forgetaboutit
but back then, never rode in the rain.
rain is beastly on leather.
but i guess leather wears better than synthetic covers
but maybe doesn't bond as tightly to a foam underneath.
yeah, don't look a free leather in the mouth right?

Nope. Don't worry about that the slightest
little bit.
With a Flite, what you have to watch out for
is the cover starting to come off at the nose,
after which it tends to peel back like a banana.
So if you see that startin', clean the plastic
then stick the cover back on there with some
strong glue.

Dear Gene,
How do wet leather shoes cause pain in the posterior region?
