I just got back from the Game Fair (www.gamefair.com) and had a blast as did Buddy. There were thousands of people and at least a thousand dogs. It was great to see so many sportsmen and women with their dogs and shotguns (and some bows of course). I can assure you there was no political correctness happening there. It's nice to be able to go to an event like that and see teenagers carrying their cased shotguns around the fair.
Buddy escaped from me shortly after we arrived at the dog events. It was the jump off the dock after a throw dummy for distance event. He backed up out of his collar and made a beeline for the water trying to get the throw dummy. Well, he was too late so he came back when I called him and had to put his collar back on. He had a helluva hard time waiting his turn for those events. Oh, and, there was a guy there who uses his horse as a retriever. Now that was a cool horse.

Another thing there, a 12 gauge shotgun with an extended barrel of about 3 or 4 feet. It was at the shoot free for something or other (something about ducks I think) sponsored by Federal. So, you're talking a shotgun who's barrel is about 6 feet long. When it was fired, it sounded like someone shooting a very quiet cap gun. I think it must have reduced the recoil also as there were kids that were about 8 or 9 shooting it, with help of course, with no ill affects.
I can't wait for next year! It really is a nice tune up for hunting season.
