Bar End lights

I recall seeing some on a bike that passed me one morning last winter.
Pretty effective, but combine with a good rear fixed on the seat tube
or carrier to ensure visibility. In the end it's two more batteries to
worry about - even if they do last for ages.

My experience was that after a short while they started to rattle and
eventually the slightest bump would make them go off (one was much
worse than the other).

I think they are very good idea and stand out when working but very
poorly constructed. I tried to tweak it so that the batteries were more
firmly in place but it made no difference. One of them is now stuck
permanently on and I await its eventual demise.

I don't know the brand of the ones I've seen, but I have seen bar-end
LEDs which were remarkably effective.

I'm sort of looking for a pair of bar end reflectors to do the same job.
LEDs are highly 'directional' anyway, and reflectors'll be a lot brighter
in headlights and will never run out of batteries.

Anyone seen some?
