  1. I'm going to be posting this to my many varied internet haunts.
Apologies, therefore, if you're getting a creeping sense of deja vue
    having read it elsewhere.

First, the obvious; I'm back. I've been on leave for almost a month (I
only get the bog-standard 5 weeks pa but decided "hey, it's Summer"😉 and
have a lot of catching up to do. I've fallen behind on reading my
collection of blogs, forums and newsgroups but am slowly churning my way
    back up to the pace.

I've had a fantastic time - 10 days of sea-time sailing around the South
Coast, watched England play shoddily at Lord's (in the flesh), watched
England play brilliantly in the third Test (on TV) and cycled round
London. I even survived being abandoned by my wife and children who did
the Florida thing for two weeks; forcing me to eat and drink in pubs for
14 nights. And, as icing on the cake, the insurers of the dozy bint who
ran me over 20 months ago decided to write me a cheque of mutually
    acceptable thickness.

Back to reading now but will post more soon. Just thought I'd announce I
was still in the land of the living.

Is it the colour of the tiles that puts you off going into the kitchen?

Excellent news. I take it the numbers on the thick cheque were acceptable as
    well.
