  1. During hard rides and especially during races my nose runs like an open faucet. Really annoying. Is there anything I can take that doesn't require a perscription, won't put me to sleep, or blow my heart up?

    Thanks.

  2. I thought I was the only one who has this problem. the back of my gloves can be a mess. I haven't tried anything, but hope your post gets an answer.

Yeah, there are few people who don't get runny noses under the right conditions. It's the reason there are articles on the right way to spit/blow your nose while in a paceline .. and it is also why gloves have that nice felty sections around the thumbs.

I wouldn't worry about it; for what it's worth, some people are more sensitive than others .. (has to do with wind against your nose coupled with exertion). You did mention that it mostly is a problem during hard rides .. As I have gotten more fit, my nose drips less and less, but it still runs.

  5. Oh well. I was hoping there was something out there to alleviate the problem. You hardly ever see the pro's with a drippy nose.

See attachment for ullrich with running nose in team presentation picture!!
Of course you can go through the year without a running nose.
It's not easy. But you can't go and look for quickfixes.

Same with headaches - i wont take painkillers but instead will do something about the cause.
Or sleeping trouble - dont take melatonin pills to fix it, get your management right.

Runny nose is result of inadequate defense by immune system. Brush up on your sleep, vitamin C and dress appropriately during daytime.

  7. It's called a 'snot rocket'. Learn the technique and get used to it.

Try growing a mustache. It slows the pace of it dripping down your face :p
