Hi all,
How fast is your sprint speed on a flat road with little or no wind?

by myself i can get up to about 55k's or just a shade under 35 mph on a good day. i'm not exactly a
fast-twitch muscle guy, i prefer a 6 hour 30 kph plod up and down.

Variety is the spice of life, especially bike rides.

Only about 45 km/h IIRC - any tips for going faster? I have never been taught to sprint by a coach
or anything (you'd hope not, for their sake), what are the common mistakes? Can you be a good
sprinter if you're not born that way and don't do any weights?

i just ride quite a bit, i am also 22 years old so time is on my side. you have to work real hard,
50-60% effort isn't going to get you up to speed. one day when you are warmed up just get out of the
saddle and crank it as hard as you can, gradually so w/o cranking so hard that you lurch too far
over and land on your head. then see what you can do.
