  1. Started coming down with a %&*@#%! head cold about 3 am at work this
morning. :-P Damned mold spore allergy attacks nearly always do this to
me and lots of wet weather in Texas equals high mold spore counts.

I started lifting heavier and going for strength about a month ago and
    am making good progress.

I hate to take a weeks break now. :-(

I'll not be going to the gym today, tomorrow or Monday so my next
    workout is Teusday morning.

If this just stays in my throat and sinuses, I think it should be ok?

Does anyone here still lift if they are sick?

    Cheers!

Om (hitting the chicken soup and other typical cold remedies.....)

If it stays above the neck and you're not running a significant
temperature then you could probably get away with doing a reduced
version of your regular training. Say, only one work set after your warmups.

Great, so you can infect everyone else at the gym?

At home, yes, as long as it stays above the neck. Even then, I take it easy.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Head cold, I lift hard and heavy and run hard interval workouts and it kills the
    cold.

Chest cold and/or fever, I stay in bed and consume pepper chicken soup and fruit
juice and water in startling quantities.

It varies from person to person, but I never do.

    What? No heavy deadlifts? <lol>
Yeah, that seems to be pretty much the conventional wisdom, thanks!

Don't think I've not considered that very thing. ;-)
That can backfire, they can pass it back to me as cold viruses tend to

    most peoples are.

<grumbles> Yeah, I guess I'll have to resign myself to taking a week
    off. :-P

I'll just take some long walks instead. The dog will appreciate that!

As long as you don't walk him like my idiot neighbor. He walks him,
but when the dog stops tp pee or squat, he yanks the leash and moves
him along. I mean isn't the point of walking him to LET him pee?

Well, that's not much of an issue here. :-)
My dog is female so does not have the need for territory marking.

I DO use a long lead so she can sniff around and enjoy herself, but the
head collar eliminates the need to yank the leash. She stays mostly at
my side unless she sniffs something interesting, then I stop and let her
    "do her thing".

Some people are jerks with their dogs!

    Yes. ;-)

But I stop for her if she needs to do that,
and carry a baggy to pick it up.
