  1. came across these bikes, to be released in 2006.

    check out the cricket..

    mountainbiketales.comVerdra3.htm

  2. That is a NICE bike!!!

  3. a friend showed me this about a month ago and I was wondering if this is really going to happen. How much do you think they'd cost? I can't see it having much of a market if they were to be over $3k which is how expensive they look.

  4. Those things look like they were designed in 1986.

  5. How about this one for teaching kids....

Not as funky as the Specialized ones but still pretty nice. 🙂

Doubt it. Anyone remember the Mantis concept mountain bike a few years ago? Nothing came of that.

    Bill.

  8. Magnetically suspended wheels? Magnetic drive system? Have to wonder what that weighs....

Of the lot, the Cricket seems to be the only one that could be built using current technology. Doesn't have a seat tube, so the UCI won't like it.

But the lack of friction would more than make up for it. 🙄

  10. i don't know about you but they seem to be overly ugly

  11. Okay, we've been had.

Don't believe me? Then look at the bikes and then tell me how you steer them.

Still don't believe me? Then check this site.....

    Nice. 🙄

  12. Yes, we've been had (thank god...), but in reference to your
steering quandry, it is conceptually possible for a design like that to
have working steering that works quite well actually. Hub steering.

Imagine Having To Change A Flat on the one with the magnetic Wheel😄

The Mantis from a couple years ago apparently steered using cables. Apparently.

    Bill.

  15. Those pics look just a bit fake

  16. If they really existed it would be cool to show up at a group ride with one😎
