Daughter KJ set off this morning on her first 'solo' cycle camping trip. Its a funny feeling watching someone who you have been nurturing undertake an independent expedition. Although she's only heading into the lanes of Berkshire and Oxfordshire, it feels even worse (as a parent) than when she disappeared off with a tent to the World Scout Jamboree in Thailand for nearly a month. That was 'organised'.
Well at least she phoned as promised. The tent is set up, pasta cooked on the Trangia, and 50+ miles covered with no mishaps.
I can sleep tonight in peace :-)
Isn't it great the independence cycling gives kids.
