LeMay and later became U.S. secretary of defense.

Maybe he MEANT to bomb Nagasaki first. It was a better military target
and had about 1/3 as many casualties. All those funny foreign names can

The loss of life during Sherman's march to the sea was minimal for
even enemy soldiers. The loss of civilian life was next to nothing.
