I am on a swim team that allows jammers, I will be in high school in
september and the coach there does not allow jammers all swimmers must
wear those awful speedos. If that is not bad enough they are the one
inch ones. I am sort small for my age and these things come in small and
super small and because of my size i would have the super small. What
can I say to the coach so she will let me wear the jammers. I talked to
my dad about it and he says its part of the sport and you will swim.

swimming. You might want to try the square cut speedos that look more
like shorter cycling shorts. Really though speedos aren't that big a
deal when everyone is wearing them. You'll get used to it. -

For some reason I'm feeling chatty and I'm reminded of an anectode
which may shed light on your predicament.I'm crazy about motorcycles. And I'm thinking of a quote by Miguel
DuHamel who has road raced for "Big Red" (Honda) for many years. He's
an older racer now, so they asked him what it was like when he was a
starry eyed teenager and racing at the legendary Daytona International
track for the first time. (That's the track where Dale Earnhardt was
tragically killed.) The motorcylces go onto the banking there at
200MPH. He replied that the thrill of being there and the aura of the
place lasted only a lap or two. After only that short amount of time
he was thinking to himself, "Okay, I'm at the legendary Daytona ...
now how the hell do I get more SPEED".So if you've got some competitive spirit, the same thing will probably
happen to you. After only one or two workouts, you'll stop worrying
about your tight, small suit, and instead be thinking about what you
should be: "How can I go FASTER!!"Eric

If you were a construction worker, you would wear a hardhat and
steel-toed boots. The speedo is the steel-toed boot of swimming. You
will probably be working much harder on the team in high school, so you
will spend less time on deck where people will see you, and those who do
will also be wearing speedos. Just think "steel-toed boots, steel-toed
boots."
