  1. This is the story.... 37yrs , been running for last 5 yrs.30-40miles
per week and a few races including a marathon. All of a sudden started
getting pain shooting down over front of left knee cap(right on the top
of knee). Occasionally knee even gives way (not completely)when i bend
or sit .Also have trouble when climbing steps. This injury comes and
goes.Is this runners knee or something else? Wearing worn in nikes
which i`ve used before with no problems.

Thanks for any advice or help offered.

  2. See a running-oriented podiatrist. Knee problems are often caused by bad
foot-strike which can be solved with orthotics. Expensive, but a pair will
last you 10 years and save you a ton of pain and grief.

    Steve,
Nikes are the problem, this I guarantee you! If I am wrong, I will
never post here again. There are a few diehard nikes wearers here, but
the vast majority of experienced runners will tell they are designer
shoes, not running shoes. Even the few decent shoes they make are a
third higher in price than a comparable (reputable) brand.
It's likely you pronate, or have other running issues that are the
underlieing cause, and nikes do not compensate.
Go to a good running shop where they can watch you run, and recommend
the right shoe for your style, and don't let them sell you nikes
    again!
    This WILL solve your problems.

Stupid and expensive. No DO NOT see a podiatrist! This guy "Mack" must
be one to suggest such a drastic move, over such a tiny problem.
Orthotics are a LAST RESORT, not something to go running to for a
small, one-time injury. Before going to a podiatrist, you should try
SEVERAL new pairs of shoes, and allow anywhere from a week to a month
to let the problem go away. Orthos are a stupid waste of money at this
stage of the game. Hopefully the nikes haven't done permanent damage
    to your knee yet.
Trust me on this, I know I am right.

  6. Hey insane one, how's it feel to see you lost your only fan left on
RR, Donovan? He now says you are a fruitcake too. Happy now? You have
no supporters (don't bother with your fake ID to pretend to support
yourself) left except Tom who is equally as whacked.
My question was rhetorical, and you are still in my killfile, so an
answer is a waste of your time, much like the rest of your pathetic
    existence.
Your days are numbered here anyway. Only $2 a person to be rid of you.
    Now THAT'S a bargain.
If anyone else wants to contribute to the "Restrain Twittering idiot"
fund, the more who contribute, the lower the price. We are at the $2 a
person stage, so it can only go lower as more join in. This is a 4
month long project of mine, and I've sent out hundreds upon hundreds
of emails to get this done. So if interested in joining us, email to
[email hidden] and in the subject line put "ban twitidiot".
