  1. What are the specifications of bottle cage screws? I need to get some from a hardware store. But I don't know what to say to them.

  2. I use stainless steel socket head cap screws, 5mmX10mm 0.8mm pitch. They attach most things to the bikes.

  3. So is "stainless steel socket head cap screws, 5mmX10mm 0.8mm pitch" what I say to the guy at Home Depot?

  4. 5mm Hex head / 5mm Allen key fitting.

I don't think there are that many different ones in terms of thread pitch and 10mm long is about right though some cages come with 12mm long now...

I suppose that you haven't got one that you can take along and show the guy?

    Cheers

  5. Just print out this page and take it along, he will get the drift.. 🙂

  6. Home Depot does not stock them in stainless. They will only stock black steel. Try loosescrews.comloosescrews.com they have them all and are very easy to do business with. Choose the cheap shipping, I got my order delivered in three days

  7. Do you think I can just take my old screws out and ask him to find a match?

    ya that will work

black is better then silver anyway....

  9. Black may be beautiful, however not too good for a bottle cage mount. They rust. I find lots of condensation on the bottle cage, frame and bottom bracket area when using frozen water bottles. That's why I use and recomend stainless steel (or alloy, ti, nylon screws) 😎

  10. I was thinking of spending 2 dollars max on like 10 screws. I live in Toronto. What are some good places to go to?

  11. they do make black alloy screws... but just make sure u grease them b4 u put them in and you wont have problems
