  1. I have a nailbiting message board and of all the product solutions that have
come up, hypnosis was never thought of (also accupuncture was another option
    that wasn't thought of either).

Has anyone ever tried accupuncture? Results? Did it help?

    Hi Rose,

I think your idea of a forum for nailbiting is awsome! I visited your
site. Should think in lines of placing an actual forum on it so that
visitors can see their messages in almost real time.

Regarding your question on acupuncture for nailbiting, I think that
acupuncture by itself would not be enough to stop the habit. Of
course, one can never second guess how the body would respond to any
    treatment and there's anecdotal
evidence that suggests acupuncture to be a good choice.

I treat nailbiting as I would treat any other compulsive disorder.
That is, with a combination of acupuncture and hypnosis. This protocol
has yielded the best results in my practice. However, If I had to only
use one or the other, I would employ hypnosis first.

    Good luck with your efforts,

    ~fernando

  3. There's an old treatment for nailbiting, as I recall it's a substance called
    bitter alum.
You put it under your nails and when you bit them you feel this horrible
    'drawing in' of your mouth.
Thus you associate that horrible 'drawing in' with the nail biting.
