First, to keep this on-topic, there's a picture of Saturday's grilled
chicken and tomatoes on my Yahoo page. I served the meat and 'maters on
12-grain bread with lettuce, mayo, and some homegrown basil:
    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/head_trollop/my_photos

Crash got a clean bill of health from his surgeon at his post-op visit
    this
past week, and is scheduled for the other hip replacement in mid-October.
I've been concerned about how long he's been having post-op pain, so I
asked the doctor about it. He said with his usual 65 year old ladies, the
pain subsides more quickly because they have less muscle mass.

When my m-i-l had a hip replacement, she was up and running in no time (it
seemed to us), and complained somewhat of pain, but almost simultaneously
she developed Alzheimers. As Alzheimers developed, she complained less of
the pain; of course, the pain could have subsided, but we will never know.

We saw the realtor (male) at the grocers and thought he looked vaguely
familiar, all racked with pain. About a year later, he looked 20 years
younger, face, body and all. It truly is a miracle for some. Good luck.

Hope you find a leveler place soon, Toots. Will you celebrate your
<mumblemumble-th) birthday this weekend? I'll be at Margaret's on
Wednesday and Thursday of this week -- I'll chug a TaB (or maybe a G&T)
in your honor and Margaret will have yet *another* Scotch. <sigh>

Make that a gin and sour with a twist of lime, and you're on! Yup, the big
5-0 strikes on Friday. The way it's looking now, Crash and I will be going
out to dinner on Friday, then we're grilling on Saturday with my kidlette
    and our neighbors.

Yum! We got some fresh lettuce from Sis' garden earlier this week. I
    love summer.

Hurray! I'll bet you'll both be glad to get it over with.

I'm still quite ill, but am seeing some improvement, so I guess that's
good. Don't ask what's wrong, just trust me when I say you don't want it.
I'm not up to reading and posting regularly yet, but thought I'd keep in
    touch.

I'm glad you're improving! I haven't felt up to doing much Usenet
either (virus, depression, prescrip issues), but when I have, I've
    missed your posts, Carol...
