  1. Saw an interesting thing last night, it was dark already....

Young black man on bike, dark clothing, no lights, just one tiny
reflector, no helmet, going the WRONG way, towing another young black
man on one of those "scooter" type things, I actually saw the second
guys white T-shirt, first, until I took a good look. Was caging it at
    the time......

Felt like yelling at both of them..... Figured it wasn't worth it....

  2. What kind of scooter was it?

You know, basically a skateboard with a T shaped handle, don't know what
they call those, sharper image seems to sell them by the millions,
because everybody seems to have one.....

And who says you don't see black people riding bikes these days?

Dude, you ARE SO WHITE [friendly poke].

Have you ever hear of K/Wal/Target-Mart?

    Sharper Image. He he

It's like the Fingerhut catalogue for educated honkies.

    [/friendly poke]

Around here it's the mini motorcycles and they buy them at the major auto
parts chains like Pep Boys and Autozone. All the danger of the scooter,
    only faster for cooler hurties!!

You do around my neighborhood ,but they're mostly like the guys
described above. Or on junky old bikes. I''ve had several near misses
from guys careening around the street the wrong way and nearly run
down on the sidewalks. There are some roadies around here, but not in
the immediate area. However, there are also quite a few elderly
italian families who seem to nod in approval when they see me and my
homies on our bikes. It's pretty varied around here.

  17. I saw a kid riding a new Schwinn Sting-ray today. He wasn't pedaling
though, he was pushing himself along with his feet on the ground. It
was probably more effecient then pedaling on that thing anyway.
