While Dan's site doesn't sound like what you are looking for, it does show
what one guy by himself can do to create routes.

That's not it. I actually saw it intially in Bicyling Magazine. I think
it was in one of their articles about commuting.

Buy a city map and do it yourself. You can drive it in your car to see
what it's like, or ride it on a weekend to get a feel for how long it'll
take you.
