  1. Hey guys,

Thinking of investing in an indoor trainer rather than a stationery..... any
    tips???

Need to improve my fitness and drop 20kgs before tackling the BRx

I can highly recommend the Cycleops Fluid2, it would cost somewhere between
$450 - $500. The resistance increases exponentially as you increase speed. I
would steer clear of mag trainers IMHO.

that'll help but so will coming out on the BR(x)'s! 😄

we aint THAT good! (well, some of us! youre sure to have company)

seriously, there's plenty of 'bail' spots where you can turn back/off if it aint youre thing

Come out now so you can beat Dutchys land speed record down the hill...if you lose 20kg you've got no hope 😄

As FD said, we ain't exactly A-graders, and alot more social. So who's responsible for putting fear into all these potenial BR'ers, the ride is as hard, or as easy as you want to make it!

umm..er... maybe me taking s*it in this newsgroup?.. nothing new there...
    🙂

To put the ride into perspective (yet again).. if you can ride any type of
bike anywhere from 22-30kmh/h+ avg for a few hours then the BR is for YOU!
If you have no group skills there are lots of slow 'neutral' zones where
everyone is off the pace and you can practice grabbing a wheel.. bring on
the numbers, bring on the BR peloton!

That's the plan.... Took it for a few laps of the Kew crit track late
today - all feels good.. I'll have to introduce it to the BR family steeds
tomorrow, hopefully it plays well with others 🙂

Fingers crossed for no Paris-Roubaix style roads - it HAS to be sealed by
    now!

    cheers,

No grrrrr.. though it was dry and hard packed for 80% of the way... the
downhill was a little hairy being all loose gravel/stones... one day we may
    break 20km/h+ down there again!

    cheers
