  1. What do you guys use to lube your shocks? I'm not talking stuff used during an overhaul, but just
    the type you put on during your regulary maintenance... some people say just a few drops of chain
    oil will do?

    I use Manitou Prep M on my Mars1 fork (now that it's safely back home), and the others... heh, I
    guess I don't do anything to them until it's time for an overhaul. I try to keep the wipers clean
    from all the gunk that collects on them, but that's all.

    Most mfgs. have pretty specific direction regarding what kind of lube to use. Read your manual or
    look it up on the web. It can vary by brand.

    I just wash and wipe dry, but I'm guessing that a light coating of automotive transmission fluid
    would be good because it won't harm rubber or plastic things; such as seals, dust covers, etc.
    Others I'm sure have more wisdom on this.
