Been having some real problems on just one of my feet for years now. After a 2-3 mile run the bottom of my foot swells over the metatarsals and sometimes affects the big toe. It will stay sore for days and then get better but always a little tender. It gets so bad I can hardly walk on it. Have tried lots of insoles and gel pads and especially shoes and nothing seems to help........... Probably am 35 pounds overweight......The other foot is perfect. Any ideas other than to take up biking? I realize that it could be most anything but would appreciate any long shot ideas here.
Found out the problem for anyone in same boat..... Orthopedic doctor x-rayed and shows fractured sesamoid bone. Two small bones at base of big toe... common problem for runners, dancers, etc. Rehab is 6-8 weeks in stupid little shoe and little weight bearing...... "Waiter! More beer please!"
