When I reply to the group, my message never appears, any idea why?

Try replying to this. If it doesn't work then start a new topic and
tell us what you did. It could be that you're not seeing your own
replies but others do.

Excuse me for not knowing the correct english words but perhaps you clicked
the *answer to sender* button. You should click the *answer to group*
button. It seems obvious but you never know.

This might be silly, but you're using Outlook express, do you use the "Reply
Group" button (which is correct), coz I keep clicking the reply and this
will sent an email direct to the poster's email account.

A common problem with many newsreaders. When I get replies which should
have gone to a ng I bounce them saying "Did you hit the wrong button?"

Store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and
against it enter the number of the person you would want to be
contacted "In Case of Emergency". http://tinyurl.com/79lz9

Not a problem with Turnpike 6.
It has a Follow-up button and a Reply button, and if you press the Reply
button it asks; "Are you sure want to reply privately to this newsgroup
article rather than follow-up", and presents the choice to continue,
follow-up, or cancel.
You can also change your choice during the editing of the reply, if
required.
User-friendly, I calls it....

It also makes it impossible to post to both the NG =and= email at the
same time, which is good too. Nothing more annoying than to reply to an
email (which I do first), then read usenet later and discover the same
thing posted there.

You can customise the menu bar in OE and move the buttons apart.

In Netscape when I hit the reply button it sends to uk.rec.walking
automatically.

Have you killfiled yourself ?
Can you see your original posting here? At teh time of writing tis there
were no replies from you here, but many sensible posts suggesting you might
be replying to individuals rather than newsgroup.
Cheers
