  1. Ah, boo-hoo turns to joy... but "revenge" or "vindication"? Pshaw.

If he worked in the break as reported, he helped put Evans up past
Phonak teammate Landis on GC. Some fairly heavy dork factor with this
guy IMHO; but at least he used good tactics at the end and nailed the
    stage. --TP

  2. go for the stage win or protect 7th place on the GC?

    hmmmmm .....

BTW, WTF was 7th last year? anybody care?

7th has twice as may UCI ProTour points than 11th.

Pays higher prize money, too ...

You'd have to be a major dumbass not to care about that.

Ultimately, it's not about points or about $ -it's about burning your
image and your team's name on the public consciousness. Despite the
extra points and prize money, nobody remembers who finished 4th through
10th. But everyone remembers a stage winner.

Besides, Floyd would look like a major dumbass if he threw his arms in
the air as he crossed the finsih line in Paris to celebrate his 7th
place in the GC. Where as a stage winner .....

What's the difference in prize money between 7th and 11th place, split
    about 10 ways after taxes?
