First off, you suck. You shouldn't be allowed to make great deals like that
and gloat in public.

As far as bar care, it depends greatly on the original finish. you can paint
any unknurled surface. Do NOT paint any knurled surface or where the weights
go. A little light sanding with emery cloth can remove any surface rust.
The patina acts as a protective barrier. As long as you don't get any stain
on your hands, you will be OK. You can paint the weights.

Um, yes, I guess the finish does matter. Flat black, not painted. Anodized,
I guess?
