Seems like in an earlier interview, he said he was waiting for the hard climbs
in the Pyrenees. Didn't we just see them pass by without much more than a
whimper from Basso?
that is funny. Send a link.

Sounds like he started last night ... with a few pints.

Autologous? :-)
I see Basso as an apprentice. he is observing every move made by the best
there is. He is learning day by day exactly what Lance does and what his
reserves are. He will attack soon and it will be interesting. His position
is perfect for a strike. The question is , Can he pull it off? I would
not bet on him but it is possible. Perhaps we will find out tomorrow.

That was much more than a whimper.
But when he says "win the tour" I think
he means "get second."

I think there is the possibility of the biggest surprise for all this week
coming. Just ask one question; how long will Lance's form last ? He is only
2:46 ahead of Basso after 2 wks of domination. It's pretty easy to lose that
much on a bad day. Just ask Jan.

But does Lance ever really have a bad day? When's the last one he's had
on the Tour in the last 7 years?

The first time-trial in 2003, which he lost 1:36 to Ullrich (and allegedly 7
kilos to dehydration), and the stage to Morzine, in 2000, when he bonked on
the Col de Joux-Plane, and struggled to finish 1:37 behind Ullrich (who
finished 2nd on the day).
So even Armstrong's bad days haven't been fatal to his ability to win the
Tour.
