Hi Folks, Having not cycled much for the last 20 years (!!) my wife and I are looking for a couple of bikes. Nothing too ambitious to start with, just good and comfortable bikes to get us to and from our local park (couple of miles), and probably the occasional cycle further afield. We will also be looking for a child carrier for one of them to carry our 2year old. I doubt very much if we will be doing much "off-road" at least to start with. We live in Greater London.
There is now so wide a selection its hard to know where to start !. Any suggestions ? Budget is an issue, and Im happy to look at 2nd hand.

Hope you enjoy your new bikes when you get them. Just don't try to do too much at first. Best and first accessory is a pair of lycra padded cycle shorts worn underneath your shorts or trousers. You will have to wear them underneath because I bet you won't want to be seen out in anything looking like that!

A good cheap make of bike is Ridgeback - that will be good enough for what you need at this stage. You could always try ebay - but ensure that it's a reputable seller. I'd avoid people who are knocking off hundreds of bikes.
