Is this pretend Trangia likely to be a load of rubbish:
    http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/index.nsf/pages/c.o.oow.20050714.p.Outdoor_Cookware

    I am tempted though.

But for some reason they've mislabelled the "Cat's Food Dispenser" as
    "Rodent's Labyrinth". ;-)

I'm tempted too: if the burner's [censored] then you still get a set of pots
for £7. The panhandle will almost certainly be inferior to the genuine
Trangia one (easily the best I've found), but it'll still be okay as a
spare. And the burner may not be [censored]: they're not exactly high tech
engineering, after all... If the dimensions are significantly different
to the Real Thing then using a gas conversion might be a bit of a
problem, but if I can get to Lidl before they're all away to eBay I may
    well get one.

    Worst case: cheap fondue set...

    Pete.

Ta muchly :-) The felines could do with at least one new scratch post, as
the existing ones are well used and getting a tad threadbare.

    :-)

I have two young voles in my library at the moment. Well, safely in a small
cage. Cats being cats, my three hunt small rodents (they prefer rodents to
birds). Since they've been small I've trained them to give me the prey they
bring in by praising them - that way they are usually happy to relinquish
the prey to me. Indeed Waffles announces her catch with a call of "Mowz!
Mowz!" with rodent still in her jaws :-) This way I can check to see if said
prey is alive/unhurt/injured/dead etc., etc.. and if alive I place in a
rescue box which is a small cage. The two young voles there currently - one
brought in by Waffles, one by Marble, are now fit & healthy and will be
released today. In their box they have no fear of The Big Giant Hand that
visits regularly to deposit mixed seed, nuts, greens and slices of cucumber
    :-)

The other day Waffles jumped in through the office window and immediately
deposited a large, very dead, rat on Vernon's desk much to the horror of
    Vernon ;-)

    Cheers, helen s

Much as I greatly like cats,

    <minirant>
if you're staying with a friend who has cats and you get up early to make
coffee and you go downstairs in your bare feet and you don't look where
you're stepping you can find yourself in a position to wish that if your
friend's cat is going to bring mice into the house to eat, it would at
least eat *all* of the bloody things.

Even worse than partial mouse is a nice steaming regurgitated, partially
digested rodent, along with warm, fresh damp hairball. Cold yet still wet
    hairball is particularly yukky.

  8. I bought one of the LIDL 'trangia-alike' stoves.
For seven quid you couldn't ask for much better.
Two pans, frying pan, burner, pot grips plus outers.

Reminds me of the cheapo pan set I bought several decades ago (which is
still going strong). It was labeled as 6-piece, took me a while to work
out that that meant 2 pans and 2 lids, a gripper, and the plastic strap
    holding them together 🙂

Halfrauds did a cheap bike computer labelled as n functions. Well it
did have n, if you included the on/off button.

My first computer (G-Pulse, IIRC) was labelled as having n functions,
where one of the functions was that the box it came in was designed to
function as a desk tidy (holes to stand pens in, and a space for
paperclips where the computer originally sat).
