TR: Another failed 3000s TR!

I think that the weather over the weekend was exceptional, and not
suited for long distance weeking. Previously I've never felt
dehydrated and I did on Saturday evening and Sunday plus never had
blisters before and did suffer them on Sunday.

As others have posted, bring on winter!!!

or any other walking for that matter! We did a shortish route in the
Howgills (11 miles, 1500 feet ascent) which took 7.5 hours and nearly
finished me off!

It's a hard walk even when it's not so hot but your best chance will be
the weekend after next if it has cooled down by then.

I think I must have failed on the 3000s at least as many times as I
suceeded and in August 974 I too fell victim to heat stroke and gave up
at Ogwen. But think yourself lucky. After being dropped back at
Pen-y-Pass I managed less that half a mile in the best car I ever had
before writing it off. Mind you I was lucky. It is not everyone who can
walk away with a few bruises (and an acid burn) after rolling an open
top car while wearing a seat belt.

Put on hold perhaps. I didn't expect to survive. I just wanted to get
the painful bit over as quickly as possible.
