Hi Mel,

I would suggest frequenting your local bike shop to support them. If you cannot find something then go to an online order place.

Mirrycle (Mirrorcycle) rear view mirrors work great on a BikeE and most other OSS (Over Seat
Steering) bents. They insert into the end of the bar placing the mirror outside your hands. Very
convient and effective. Craig

For the mirror, I used the "miracle mirror" They go into the end of the handle bar, just cut out
the end of the grip. they work great and if it gets hit it just folds out of the way. Only about
$10 to $15.

My favorite tail-light (replaces the reflector on the factory mount and is suprisingly bright):

version available also, but Cateye has pulled it from the US market so they're hard to find)

BikeE puts different brakes on their various models...if you have a CT, you'll probably find that
the provided Alhongas are weak (yeah, very weak). Almost any rear linear-pull V fits on back, and a
slightly modified Tektro Mini-V will fit the front. Easystreet can help you with these.

Thanks for the great links. I'm sure interested in changing my seat. It feels like it slopes down
and I feel like I'm falling off the front of it. I see that there are a couple of fixes, though
one looks like it's for the sweet seat. I wish I could tilt mine up in the front, but it's all
one piece.

Sounds like a "Comfort" seat (simplecom.netseats.htmOpen ↗). IMHO, BikeE got this
design wrong, placing the seatback too close to the seatbase. Here are some options to fix that:

I have made this modification to my own comfort seat, and find it to be a considerable improvement.
Unlike the authors in the referred links, I found no need for brackets of any kind. I acquired a
pair of sliders (hometown.aol.comWHYTOOLE.htmlOpen ↗) and a pair of 1" fender washers
(Home Depot). I drilled a hole in the washers, using the sliders as a template, and then used the
washers between the seatback frame and the sliders. The end result is that my seatback is now
detached from my seatbase. I was able to find some extra BikeE seat skewers, so I still have
quick-release. Somebody has posted that the Burley seat skewer will also fit, and those are still in
production. Just to be sure that I can't slide the seatback away from the seatbase, I have strapped
heavy nylon 'wire ties' around the rear seatbase skewers and the new skewer on the seatback. It
works for me.

I've got both and I like the fact that the Mirrorcycle stays put once you have it where you want. I
have to constantly adjust the Blackburn after every major bump (way too often around here). However
you are right the Blackburn does appear to be a little more durable specially with the "softer"
mounting system. Craig
