*On a kick up mount, should the tire be leaning on my pedal-leg while
    I kick the seat up?

I've watched the vid on the IUF Unicycle-blog, and i can't tell from
the angle. My leg's getting pretty sore!

That is different than the normal kickup mount (I don't actually know
the normal name of that mount), as far as I know, the tire is leaning
against your leg, and it does get sore after a while, but with practice
it isn't too bad, especially if you can ride an ultimate wheel. I find
it is much easier to ride out of it backwards with the seat in front
    than any other way.
