My bike will not shift up to my 25 tooth gear nor will it shift down to the 12 tooth gear. This problem poped up after I took my back wheel off for the first time. This isn't too much of a problem as I can get around on the gears in between, however i would like it fixed and would rather do it myself if possible.
I have a 2005 Specialized Allez Comp Double INTL with shimano ultegra components if this helps in solving the problem.
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Your problem is most likely the limit settings of your derailuer... it is easy to fix, you will see two screws on your rear derailuer, one is the upper limit, the other is the lower limit these are to limit the travel of the deraileur so that you don't hit your spokes (upper limit) or throw it over the last cog (lower limit)... by playing with them you will see which one is which, and then set them so that it will change to both gears but not go any further... make sense?

I believe I know exactly what you are talking about. I was riding one day and my chain wasn't stying in place. i noticed an idividual screw lose and screwed it in and that seemed to fix the problem. The next day I then screwed the two screws you are talking about all the way in. This should definatly fix it.

Taking the wheel off and putting it back on doesn't effect the limit screws ... AT ALL! Perhaps you just happened to notice it around that time?
