Um, I've just looked back through the archives and surprisingly don't find
any positive or constructive posts by you. Don't you think it's a bit
hypocritical to criticize others when you have done nothing to contribute?
I've been part of this NG for about 4 years now. Sure there are a few
jerks, same as any other NGs, and us long-timers have our ups and downs.
But there is also great information and a lot of support and wonderful
advice from experienced low-carbers for those who want it. You realize that
your news reader has the capability of killfiling posts from that you don't
want to see?

I feel sorry for you if you are going through life avoiding the good
because there might be some bad along the way.

Good luck anyway, I hope you find your Utopia.

It's one of the things I love about usenet is the sheer freedom.

If someone decides they don't like JC (or me for that matter), most
browsers are set up with killfiles. I'd suggest they learn how to use
them.

If someone lets JC scare them off, then they have no idea what an
anarchy or true posting freedom is, and they don't belong here!

It's only anarchy because there are rude and vulgar people who misuse
it. The don't contribute to the discussion, they only use it to get
their sick jollies insulting and annoying others. I've seen newsgroups
disappear from jerks like this. The purpose of this newgroup is for
discussion support about LC, not to insult people with every post. And
encouraging jerks by telling them they do belong here as much as anyone
else just makes it worse. Apparently you confuse free speech with

I think it breaks down like this, Trader: der Konehead is the Chief Dung
Beetle. The weaker, lesser dung beetles suck up, excuse and defend him
because that keeps him off their backs, in much the same way POW's come
to admire their captors and even to enjoy the torture. "Follow the
Leader Even if He's an [censored]" is typical of lesser dung beetles. Just
look what one swaggering failure of an art student did for Germany.

OM is not a dung beetle at all, but a spiritually advanced Soul who
truly forgives unacceptable behavior.

Then, there are the non-dung beetles who have varying degrees of
tolerance for [censored] and either stick around or split, depending on
their BSTL.

Finn had a very low [censored] Tolerance Level and split. I have a pretty
low BSTL, too and am sort of standing on the sidelines, arms crossed,
watching the dung beetles and counting roses, deciding.

But, I do recognise a dung heap when I see one.

Most of the people who have been around a while realize what he is.
But how about the newbies that show up and ask a question of two and
get blasted with vulgarity and abuse? How many of them who we would
like to have in the group just give up and go away? That is what kills
groups and why I don't think this behavior is funny, cute or should be
encouraged. If anything, we should all start complaining to his ISP
about his abuse of the newsgroups.
