Did you see the drops on that last little hill today? Do you know why
that is? Because of these fast flats. Without the flats you don't get
the "duels" as much.

I think you should stop watching cycling too. Heck, you only just got
started apparently so it's not like you're giving up a long term

What about making the stages really long so that they went through the
flats and then the mountains? Like maybe 3000 km per stage. You could
have each rider followed by 3 motorhomes playing loud music and forbid the
riders to sleep for 5 days before starting each stage. Then, the race
speeds would be more in keeping with what people are used to when they ride
their bikes and bunch sprints would be way cooler because of hallucinations
among the peloton and lead-out guys being so tired they lead out the wrong
guy, or maybe even ride the wrong direction.

You realize that the common thread in all those ruined sports is
participation by Americans. And look what's happened to the TdF since they
let Americans win it.

rather not have to use a horse racing track camera to see who won.

I don't think so, since it seems like rain again today. I think there
were 30 flats yesterday.

You've got it all wrong. The TdF needs to become even more like the NFL,
NBA, etc. It needs cheerleaders. All those teams need cheerleaders. I'll
bet those Spanish teams could field some hot babes. All we've got now is
Sheryl Crow and she doesn't wear skimpy outfits. And they dress the podium
girls like they're Amish or something. We need cheerleaders in hot little
outfits ... and that takes money. So we also need to start charging
everyone who stands along the side of the road. There could be a ticket
puncher in one of the advance caravan vehicles -- kinda like the conductor
on a train. People would buy tickets for, say, $50 each and the conductor
would come along and punch them. Yeah, that's it. That's the ticket.
